Visiting Authors Program
Each year, the Tuckahoe PTA brings in authors from diverse genres to meet with students and share their expertise on writing. Authors talk with students about their writing process, publishing and behind-the-scenes details on their books. They also share tips on scrutinizing sources, editing, taking notes and researching their subjects.
On December 16, 2025, we enjoyed a rockin' good time with Eric Litwin, the original author of the Pete the Cat Series. Eric shared his original Pete the Cat read-aloud stories along with favorites from The Nuts and Groovy Joe. Students sang, moved, and danced along to his captivating musical storytelling. Eric also taught us about how Pete the Cat and his other lovable characters stay positive, kind, and resilient—even when things get tough.
Thank you to Eric, the Tuckahoe PTA, and Visiting Authors chairperson Nikki Rasinski for sharing this joyful, musical celebration of reading and positivity.
Another great Author Visit is in the books!
